The students were each assigned a character to play for the entire day. Their nametag provided information about their country, income, and family. |

Next, we travelled around to all of the grade 3 teachers, visiting 8 centres! |
|
We made Ukrainian headpieces |
|
Discussing child labour in India really affected the students. Here they are trying to stitch soccer balls. It was hard for the children to believe that children their age are doing this 14 hours a day! |

Learning how to carry water on our heads |
During lunch, the students were given allowances, according to their character's family's income, to buy lunch with. This activity definitely got the students talking! The children who came from higher income families said they felt guilty, and the students who didn't have enough money for the sausages were devastated. As a class, the students decided they should not complain about their meals ever again.

We ended our day with a presentation from Arianna. Arianna has just returned from volunteering as a mid-wife in third world countries. She had amazing pictures and wonderful stories. |
